GREMP Web-quarium is formed by quite a unique group of individuals. It is comprised of a diverse group of Lansing Community College (LCC) students, which consists of four creative ladies and one very witty gentleman. The group was established in September 2007 during a computer class session. The name of the group GREMP was created from using each group member’s initial of their first name, which includes Gloria, Rita, Evelyn, Melissa and Paul. However, this group understands the value of working closely together as a team, which has allowed us to produce a great educational product and provides a new look, and accessibility for our users on the worldwide web. The group had a great time getting to know each other's gifts, and working through all the creative and technical aspects of the project.
Gloria Jones is studying Communications while attending LCC. She adds color and wonderment to the group. Gloria has provided information on the aquatic life of Sea Otters, an animal she dearly loves. Her work included coding the original home page template, choosing the snazzy bright fun color scheme, providing the cute fish buttons, and creating the copy for several non-critter pages. Many thanks to Gloria for taking on those extra last-minute writing tasks!
Rita Jack contributions are helping with the layout of our Web page. She adds balance to our great team. Rita has provided information on the aquatic life of Harp Seals. She also worked with Paul Harding to develop the web page templates and then used the templates, graphics and other spare parts from Evelyn and the group to build the individual critter web pages. It was a lot of work but very fun!
Evelyn Sitterson adds lots of fun and excitement to our team. The Web-quarium was her excellent idea. Her past experience as a Web Designer has proven to be a great asset to our team. Evelyn had many hours of fun in locating most of the graphics, images, and movies, giving the site its wonderful interactive multimedia aspect. Evelyn also created the GREMP logo herself - great job, Evelyn! She also provided information on the aquatic life of Dolphins, one of her very favorite aquatic critters!
Melissa Zimmerman is the team leader for our fine group of entrepreneurs. She brings order and structure to the group. She also had the very difficult job of editing all our critter page content, taking the work of 5 very different writing styles and making it coherent, easy, similar, and all in first person! She managed to corral us all without any hurt feelings at all! Melissa also thoroughly covered the aquatic life of Macaroni Penguins, her favorite aquatic critter! Thanks, Melissa, for being the Mom of our group!
Paul Harding is extremely talented and witty. His skills and abilities as a computer programmer are such a welcome attribute to the functionality and lay-out of our Web page. Paul provided our template pages, working closely with the group for their initial input as to the design, and then he built the templates. Paul owns a 44 gallon fish aquarium of his own, knows an awful lot about Angelfish, and chose to write about them in his critter page. Thanks, Paul for all your technical know-how!
